Single Tooth Implants
Dental implants are a way of replacing missing teeth. They have been around for over 50 years now after the pioneering work of Prof. Brånemark.
About single tooth implants in Darlington at our clinic. If a tooth has become unrestorable and your dentist advises you to have it removed, you may be able to replace it with a single implant crown.
The Process
Once the tooth has been gently removed, a period of 6-12 weeks will usually be required to allow for the area to heal up. Once the area has healed up, a dental implant will be placed in the position of the tooth and we will allow the area to heal for a further three months. During this healing stage, your bone will fuse onto the dental implant and allow it to integrate. Once this healing process is complete we will construct a crown and attach it onto your implant.
In some circumstances, it is even possible to extract a tooth, place an implant and fit a temporary crown in one visit (called “Immediate placement”).
